What is Stamped Concrete?

Stamped concrete is concrete that is patterned and/or textured or embossed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood, and various other patterns and textures. Stamped concrete is commonly used for patios, sidewalks, driveways, pool decks, and interior flooring. The ability of stamped concrete to resemble other building materials makes stamped concrete a less expensive alternative to using those other authentic materials such as stone, slate or brick.

Armada Procedures:

First we pour a stamped concrete mix at a 4 inch thickness for patios, walkways and pool decks. We pour 5-6 inches for driveways. At the time of placement we can broadcast different colours on the surface to give your stamped concrete a unique look. We then finish the concrete with hand floats to fix any imperfections and make sure that any colour that has been thrown on the surface is worked into the top of the concrete. Next we throw on the release (stops the stamps from sticking to the concrete and adds another colour). Now it is time to put the mats on the slab and stamp in the impression. Once the concrete has set up we sawcut in the control joints and wash off the release. Once it is completely dry we seal the concrete to protect it and give it the finished look.
